The Sun Valley Do-It Center at 1401 Silver Heights Blvd (at HWY 180) is showcasing GCAG art in their fireplace/stove and fountain room beginning February 24, 2012. Contact Karen Muench for more information.

The Grant County Art Guild generally sponsors five shows each year:
"OLD MASTERS" EXHIBIT (New!)
The first exhibit of the year. Members do a study of an Old Masters painting and replicate it. This exhibit will be displayed at the Silver City Public Library during the month of January. Art is taken to the Library on the date chosen by the exhibit coordinator (usually the 2nd or 3rd of the month) and removed on the last day of the month. Click to view the January 2012 show...
PUBLIC LIBRARY SHOW
The Guild hangs a show in the Silver City Public Library during the spring (for the month of March in 2012). Art is taken to the Library on the first and removed on the last day of the month of the show. Members are usually limited to 2 medium pictures due to the limited space. The subject matter should be for family viewing.
MEMBERS ONLY SHOW
This is the first show of the year at the Hearst Church Gallery in Pinos Altos, held on the first weekend of the season reopening of the gallery, usually the last weekend in April, and the reception for this show kicks off the reopening of the Gallery. Participation is open to current paid Guild members who have scheduled to sit two times at the gallery during the open season.

PURCHASE PRIZE AWARD SHOW
This is held the last weekend in September and the first weekend of October and is open to artists residing in New Mexico. The winning “Best of Show” piece is purchased and will hang in the Gallery. Ribbons are awarded in each category: oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel; with cash prizes to First Place and Most Popular. Entries are by slide/photo with a small fee and are juried by the Board to meet Brochure requirements. Click to view the 2011 Show...

CHRISTMAS BOUTIQUE / HOLIDAY ART & FINE CRAFTS FAIR
The Guild holds an Art and Fine Craft Sale before Christmas. Members bring their original and hand-made items that they would like to sell. There is a fee that includes booth space, and participants supply their own tables, displays, power cords, lighting, etc. (chairs are provided). This is open on a Saturday or Sunday at a selected site. Members must be active at the Gallery to participate.
